At Klera, your privacy matters — you trust us with your business's financial data, and we take that seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how Klera (operated by Fingra B.V., Amsterdam) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you visit our website or use our bookkeeping platform.

By using Klera's website or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Account information: your name, email address, company details, and login credentials.

Financial data: when you connect your bank through PSD2 (Open Banking) via a licensed provider, we receive read-only transaction data — dates, amounts, counterparties, and descriptions. We can never initiate payments or move money. We also process invoices, receipts, and documents you upload, email into your Klera mailbox, or retrieve via a connected email account.

Technical data: IP addresses, browser type, device information, and usage data needed to keep the service secure and reliable.

We use your data to run your bookkeeping: categorizing transactions, matching payments to invoices, preparing VAT returns, and generating reports. Transaction data is processed by AI models to determine the right category — every automated decision is stored together with its explanation and confidence score so you can always verify it.

We also use data to provide support, secure the platform, meet legal obligations, and improve the service. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your financial data to train models for other customers' benefit without safeguards.

Klera's website uses only functional cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to work, such as remembering your language preference. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on our website. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

Klera does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with processors we need to deliver the service: our banking connectivity provider (PSD2), cloud hosting and database infrastructure, AI model providers that process transaction descriptions for categorization, and email delivery services. Each processor is bound by a data processing agreement. Information may also be disclosed when required by law.

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your administration is protected by authentication with optional two-factor authentication (MFA), and every administration is strictly isolated from others at the database level. While we take extensive measures to secure your data, no digital platform can guarantee absolute security.

Bookkeeping data is retained for as long as your account is active and thereafter as required by Dutch fiscal retention obligations (currently seven years for administration records). Data that is no longer required is securely deleted or anonymized. You can request export of your administration at any time.

Under the GDPR (AVG) you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@klera.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Klera's website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
